Differential tolerance of Zymoseptoria tritici to altered optimal moisture conditions during the early stages of wheat infection

چکیده

Foliar plant pathogens require liquid or vapour water for at least part of their development, but response and adaptive tolerance to moisture conditions have been much less studied than other meteorological factors date. We examined the impact altering optimal conducive infection on wheat-Zymoseptoria tritici interaction. assessed responses in planta 48 Z. strains collected two climatologically distinct locations (Ireland Israel) four high regimes differing timing duration uninterrupted exposure saturated relative humidity (100% RH) during first three days infection. Individual- population-level reaction norms expressing how sporulating area a lesion change with RH were established based visual assessments development 14, 17 20 post-inoculation (dpi). Our findings highlighted: (i) critical time-dependent effect periods 100% these earliest stages; (ii) marked interindividual variation sensitivity both terms strain average plasticity; (iii) higher – expressed 14 dpi, not later Israeli population early interruption conditions. By indicating that sub-optimal may vary between individuals populations, this study highlights evidence adaptation signature pathogen. Understanding such is helpful predict pathogen populations changing climatic

Early molecular signatures of responses of wheat to Zymoseptoria tritici in compatible and incompatible interactions

Zymoseptoria tritici, the causal agent of septoria tritici blotch, a serious foliar disease of wheat, is a necrotrophic pathogen that undergoes a long latent period. Emergence of insensitivity to fungicides, and pesticide reduction policies, mean there is a pressing need to understand septoria and control it through greater varietal resistance. Stb6 and Stb15, the most common qualitative resist...

Evaluation of Resistance to Zymoseptoria tritici Blotch andFusarium Head Blight in Some Genotypes of Bread Wheat

Using resistant cultivars is an effective method in management Zymoseptoria tritici Blotch and Fusarium Head Blight of wheat. This study was conducted to identify new sources of resistance to these diseases among a large number of Iranian cultivars and new wheat genotypes. The genotypes were cultivated in an augment design in the research farm of Aliabad Katoul Agricultural School. Artificial c...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Plasticity of the MFS1 Promoter Leads to Multidrug Resistance in the Wheat Pathogen Zymoseptoria tritici

The ascomycete Zymoseptoria tritici is the causal agent of Septoria leaf blotch on wheat. Disease control relies mainly on resistant wheat cultivars and on fungicide applications. The fungus displays a high potential to circumvent both methods. Resistance against all unisite fungicides has been observed over decades. A different type of resistance has emerged among wild populations with multidr...
